When dark secrets threaten to destroy her closest relationships, teacher Hadas is drawn into a complex and deeply personal search for the truth in this gripping psychological drama from Keren Margalit, award-winning creator of The A Word.

Working at a school for “high risk” pupils, every day Hadas fights in her own special way for her students, treading carefully through each’s own unique universe. But her world is turned upside down when she receives an envelope containing sections torn out of her psychologist Ya’akov Eshel’s diary – papers documenting their private conversations. And, on the same night, Ya’akov is unexpectedly killed in a car accident, cutting off any chance for Hadas to discover how the diary came to be in a stranger’s hands.

In a desperate search to track down the anonymous sender, Hadas will be forced to deal with the truths she has concealed from those closest to her – and from herself. As her 40th birthday approaches, Hadas is stuck in a less than passionate marriage and also suffers from an ever-growing fear of impending death. The investigation will impact every aspect of her life, shaking her relationships with her husband, her boss and her best friend, as well as the bonds she has strived to build with her students.

Sleeping Bears blends a captivating thriller with a moving drama focusing on our ability to trust those we are closest to, as Hadas questions the fundamental elements of every human connection – love, trust and, ultimately, truth.

ZERO Motivation

Three consecutive stories, The Substitute, The Virgin and The Commander, recount the events of an administration office at a remote army base in the Israeli desert. The stories compose a military epic of power-struggles, intrigues and a friendship on trial.

But unlike the traditional war genre films, Zero Motivation brings to center-stage the military’s female clerical staff. The film depicts the three soldiers’ real – and surreal, comical – and gloomy journey inside the maze of military bureaucracy. For a staple-gun in the first act is sure to go off in the third.

Milk & Honey

Milk & Honey tells the story of four childhood friends from a small village in the Galilee who stumble upon an original business idea which will make the most of their various abilities – they open an escort service exclusively for women, the first of its kind in the country. The service becomes a surprising success around the Galilee, while the four friends struggle with their new and challenging identities as gigolos.

Every episode advances three or four plotlines, following the adventures of the four friends, the women they meet in their personal lives as well as their professional/sexual encounters – and the fine line separating the two. By turning the spotlight on the bedroom, the show sharply exposes the power play and tension between genders, classes and different sectors in Israeli society.  The men in the show see selling their bodies as a tempting and lucrative business opportunity, but paradoxically, it’s their dubious business that forms a bond of solidarity between them.

Hasamba

Many years ago, the children who made up the group HASAMBA helped establish the state of Israel and guard it from many dangers, becoming a legend in the process. Today, no one remembers or takes an interest in them. The former leader of HASAMBA, Yaron Zehavi, is a lonely, monkish old man. He and Tamar split up, and he’s retired in complete solitude. When Tamar finds herself caught up against her will in a big corruption scandal and is kidnapped, Yaron goes out looking for her along with Iggy, a spoiled Tel Aviv teenager, who’s supposed to “help” the elderly Yaron as part of an extracurricular high school program.

Yaron and Iggy form a tight bond, and the two embark on a journey that reunites them with all the old HASAMBA members: Moshe Yerachmiel, Menashe the Yemenite, fat Ehud, Shulamit the nurse, and thin Uzi. After the members of HASAMBA rescue Tamar from the clutches of the crime lords, they discover that the country’s largest cell phone corporation, Zurcom (run by the children of their old nemesis Elimelech Zurkin) is behind the plot. The veteran HASAMBA members, aided by a new group of teens formed against all odds, are faced with dangerous foes. They try to solve the mystery of the death of Ori, Yaron and Tamar’s son. Together, old and new HASAMBA members struggle to save the country from the hands of Zurcom, and from traitors from without and within.      HASAMBA is based on the highly successful books by that name, that were written back in the 1950’s by Igal Mosinzon

Ron

Ron

“Ron” is a comedy-drama TV series written and starring the show’s creator Ron Feldman as a fictionalized version of himself – a thirty something year old child, who is more a spectator of his own life than a main character in them. Between watching the little girl picking her nose on the bus and observing the homeless guy washing-up in the trashcan, Ron hardly has time for himself. He has no college degree or a job, and lives in his grandmother’s rotting apartment.

He would love to find comfort in his sweetheart’s arms – but she doesn’t exist. Now that he realizes that he has to get his act together, we follow him on his clear path to oblivion.  The show has a loose format, consisting of largely unconnected storylines and segments that revolve around Ron’s life. 2 story lines are persistent throughout the season: Ron’s effort to awake from his 10 year adolescent “coma” regardless of his over-indulging parents and his attempt at finding a romantic attachment – at least one that is not based on contempt and animosity. All this as he tackles the constant leakage of his moldering apartment.
